Tulare County has a total area of 4,839 square miles, mostly rural in nature.  Roughly half consists of public lands, such as Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, the Giant Sequoia National Monument and the Sierra National Forest.

These lands contain some of California's most majestic, natural attractions, not the least of which is the giant sequoia, the world's largest living thing.  Thousands of years old, with heights nearing 300 feet and diameters of over 30 feet, these trees attract visitors from every part of the planet.

Growing in the middle of some pretty spectacular scenery, all of this attention attracts millions of dollars to the retail and hospitality industries in the region.
